Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Special Security Technician to support security operations at Ft. Meade. This role involves providing a full suite of security services, including processing and tracking SCI access requests, managing security systems, conducting inspections, and collaborating across Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) organizations. You will help ensure the highest standards of personnel, physical, and information security are maintained across sensitive mission environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of SCI access and personnel security support, including badging, indoctrination briefings, and coordination of visitor access.
- Maintain and update security profiles for assigned personnel and verify clearance data.
- Coordinate with internal and external security managers and clearance authorities to validate personnel access and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform routine and ad hoc security inspections for SCIFs, classified storage areas, and other controlled spaces.
- Use and maintain government security databases and tools such as DISS, TITAN, and Scattered Castles.
- Provide support to Special Security Officers (SSO) in enforcing policies and security postures.
- Assist with audits, inquiries, and documentation to ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and command-level security directives.
- Advise leadership on security program requirements, vulnerabilities, and process improvements.
- Draft and maintain security-related documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and briefings.
- Collaborate with Command and subordinate organizations to align security operations with mission requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience supporting security operations within the DoD and IC
- Bachelor's degree
- TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph
- Experience in:
- Processing SCI access, badging, indoctrination briefings
- Managing workforce security profiles and visitor coordination
- Interfacing with internal and external security managers for clearance validation
- Conducting inspections of SCIFs, secure storage, and classified spaces
- Familiarity with clearance and security systems:
- Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
- TITAN
- Scattered Castles
- Knowledge of personnel, physical, and information security protocols
- Understanding of Combatant Command (CCMD) structure and organizational relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in security operations
- Experience as a Special Security Officer (SSO) supporting CCMD or subordinate organizations
- Master's degree
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership

Pay Range
$115,000-$130,000
