About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Full Stack Developer with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

As a member of the BEAGLE Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

The selected individual in this role will serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing software development and maintenance for the delivery of releasable software in short sprint cycles. Responsibilities include:

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint review, retrospectives)
  • Developing and maintaining software applications, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver releasable software increments
  • Working closely with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Designing, developing and implementing custom software and database application capabilities for a variety of legacy and modernized systems with limited oversight
  • Acts as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating with a do what it takes attitude to ensure product and team success
  • Provide significant improvements to the product(s) being supported
  • Support release planning with conceptual design and development / refinement of software engineering guidelines
  • Analyzing complex project-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components
  • Ensuring product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports
  • Provide input on best practices and procedures
  • Developing new and refining existing processes to enhance quality and productivity

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years, or High School diploma with 12 years
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass a CBP background investigation
  • At least 7 years of technical experience in software design, development, and implementation in a Windows environment
  • Proficiency with:
    • .NET Core, legacy .NET, C#, Dapper, Entity Framework (or other ORM)
    • TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
    • REST, XML, JSON, Web APIs
  • Strong knowledge of AWS developer tools (SQS, S3 at minimum)
  • Experience integrating with cloud-based services such as Salesforce, SharePoint, or ServiceNow
  • Advanced SQL skills with PostgreSQL; MySQL or SQL Server experience a plus
  • Strong background in object-oriented design (OODD) and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable web applications using .NET Core, React, and Web API (Angular a plus)
  • Knowledge of modern development patterns and practices
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and working with large relational datasets
  • Ability to solve complex problems with creativity and innovation
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools and environments
  • Proficiency with Git/GitLab or other source control and concurrent development workflows
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jenkins, Harness, or automated testing frameworks (MsTest, NUnit, xUnit)
  • Experience with Java technologies (plus)
  • Familiarity with accessibility/Section 508 standards
  • Agile certifications (CSM, CSD, or equivalent)
  • Additional experience with Angular, Java, or cloud/database technologies
  • Familiarity with message queuing, OAuth, application security, and automated testing
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven success in team environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full software development life cycle (planning, requirements management, configuration management, QA, release management)
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and team-oriented with strong work ethic

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
