TMC Technologies is in search of a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team in providing information technology (IT) support services to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), under the Office of The Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This is an active bid and contract award is expected in October 2025. The candidate must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of an active Top Secret clearance to start due to federal contract requirements.
The Cloud Solutions Architect will have the following responsibilities:
- Develops cloud strategies and translating business objectives into scalable, secure, and cost-effective architecture solutions.
- Serves as the highest-level technical expert and advisor, ensuring the successful delivery of complex cloud-based solutions that align with organizational goals and future-state IT strategies.
- Cloud Strategy & Architecture: a. Develops and execute enterprise-wide strategies for cloud platforms, supporting current and long-term business goals. b. Translates business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient architectural solutions. c. Evaluates cloud service providers and platforms to determine best-fit technologies for solution design.
- Solution Design & Integration: a. Designs and build cloud-native and hybrid-cloud solutions that integrate with existing enterprise systems. b. Addresses systems integration, interoperability, and compatibility across multiple platforms and environments. c. Develops automation strategies and scripts for deploying and managing cloud resources using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
- Technical Leadership & Execution: a. Serves as the technical authority on cloud architecture, guiding teams on complex development and integration efforts. b. Leads feasibility analyses, proofs-of-concept, and pilot initiatives to evaluate new technologies or approaches. c. Oversees the completion of cloud solution projects, ensuring they meet architecture standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
- Governance & Best Practices: a. Establishes cloud architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices for development and deployment. b. Contributes to cloud governance frameworks, risk management strategies, and compliance efforts.
- Collaboration & Communication: a. Partners with business units, IT leaders, and cross-functional teams to align cloud solutions with enterprise goals. b. Presents architectural concepts and recommendations to technical and non technical stakeholders, including executive management.
Job Requirements
US Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required
Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field required.
8+ years of experience in software development or systems architecture, with 4+ years focused on cloud architecture and solutions required.
Proven experience designing and implementing solutions in cloud architectures.
Advanced knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Strong experience with systems integration, multi-platform environments, and microservices architecture.
Ability to lead large development teams and complex enterprise initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, legacy system integration, and cloud cost optimization.
- Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, FedRAMP).
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
