Responsibilities:
Function as a design/structural engineer within a team engaged in the integration of advanced avionics and ancillary systems onto rotary and fixed wing platforms
Work the design, integration, and testing of an integrated suite of advanced avionics to function in a systems integration laboratory environment and on actual aircraft
Act as Lead Mechanical Engineer on integration efforts in accordance with defined specifications and requirements
Employ Computer Aided Design tools, configuration management tools, and apply the concepts of Systems Engineering to ensure a successful integration effort
Draft detailed technical reports related to the design, installation, troubleshooting, testing, and certification of applicable systems and subsystems within his/her design responsibility
Perform hands-on form, fit, and installation in a laboratory or hangar environment when necessary
Review / approve engineering drawings and technical reports developed by other engineers
Prepare briefings to support program reviews and milestone progress
Interface as needed with U.S. and Foreign Government customers, industry partners, professional associations
Responsible to support and participate in the QMS
Requirements:
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related field
5-10 years’ experience in 3D CAD packages required (SolidWorks)
A minimum of five years’ experience in military and or civilian aviation upgrade support
Experience in technical report writing as related to mechanical design preferred (Weight and Balance, Stress Analysis, Fatigue Analysis)
Experience applying the concepts of systems engineering
Experience in aircraft structural analysis (FEA and classical hand calculations)
