Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lead Azure System Engineer to join a Federal Program working in Reston, VA .
Responsibilities of the Lead Azure System Engineer include:
· Architect, implement, and manage secure and scalable Azure cloud infrastructure solutions.
· Ensure high availability, performance, and security across Azure environments.
· Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy hybrid solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms.
· Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues escalated from support teams or identified during development.
· Stay current with emerging Azure technologies and industry best practices to foster innovation and improvement.
· Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including requirements, architecture diagrams, design specs, and test plans.
Qualifications for the Lead Azure System Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in Azure Cloud Engineering or a similar role.
· Strong understanding of Azure service models (Serverless, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
· Proven experience with cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure Policy).
· Must have Azuree Administrator Certification, additional certifications preferred.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
· Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
· Experience with M365, Intune, PP&C, UEM, and IAM is preferred.
Compensation for the Lead Azure System Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $155,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
