Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level or Lead Propulsion Engineer to support the T-7A Red Hawk program at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. This role involves hands-on integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion systems in support of flight and ground operations. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and industry experts to ensure propulsion systems meet performance, safety, and certification standards.

Location: Edwards Air Force Base, California
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with ground and flight test planning and execution
- Participate in propulsion system testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation to estimate or calculate system performance
- Support definition and execution of certification tests for propulsion subsystems and components
- Contribute to the development of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems, and vehicle fuel/tank systems
- Coordinate and manage functional and physical interfaces between propulsion systems and the aircraft
- Support development of specifications, architectural concepts, and configuration designs to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the design of propulsion subsystems and components to meet vehicle performance criteria
- Provide support for fielded systems to ensure continued reliability and airworthiness
- Contribute to the development of future propulsion system concepts to meet anticipated mission requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR
- 3+ years with a Master's degree, OR
- PhD in a related field
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (must be current or active within the past 24 months)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR
- 7+ years with a Master's degree, OR
- 3+ years with a PhD
- 5+ years of related industry experience
- Experience with flight or ground testing
- Familiarity with jet engines and air-breathing propulsion fundamentals
- Experience in propulsion system analysis, integration design, installation, and support
- Component and hardware integration experience
- Vendor management and coordination experience
- Experience with qualification and certification of propulsion systems
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 (Mid) and $130,000 - $160,000 (Senior/Lead) - (Compensation varies on position and relevant years of experience and education)
