We have an exciting new opportunity for a Traveling Welder in Portsmouth Virginia!
Qualifications:
Must have active Secret Clearance
Must have a minimum of 6 years of welding experience in the trade
Must be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout the country
Must be able to certify to OII-MSD SMAW and GTAW weld procedures (documentation required)
Proficient in welding carbon and stainless steel piping and structural components.
Strong understanding of welding safety procedures, codes, and best practices (e.g., ASME, AWS standards).
Job duties entail but are not limited to:
Perform high-quality welds using SMAW and GTAW in accordance with OII-MSD weld procedures.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specifications.
Follow all company safety protocols and procedures while working in varied environments (field, industrial sites, confined spaces, heights).
Work collaboratively with site supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, and other trades to ensure project deadlines are met.
Maintain and calibrate welding equipment and tools as required.
Complete daily job logs, timesheets, and weld reports accurately and timely.
Schedule:
May work 8,10 or 12 hours shifts.
Pay starts at $33/hr plus Per Diem for those that qualify
