We are looking for a Maintenance Specialist to support our Navy customer in Jacksonville, FL.
The Maintenance Specialist provides support to USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT for the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance, repair, and salvage operations for Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and other vessels operating under the operational control of Commander, FOURTHFLT (C4F). The role involves coordination with Regional Maintenance Centers, Type Commanders (TYCOMs), In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), and other stakeholders to maximize operational availability of deployed forces. Additionally, the Maintenance Specialist serves as a logistics and facilities advisor for the command headquarters, supporting facility management and property accountability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to achieve maintenance, repair, and salvage objectives for LCS class and other vessels under C4F OPCON.
• Identify and coordinate appropriate sources for preventative and emergent vessel maintenance across the USSOUTHCOM AOR, ensuring synchronization with TYCOM, ISICs, RMCs, LSTs, ISEAs, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical advice and expertise to expedite maintenance requirements during exercises and operations in the AOR.
• Coordinate with the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), freight expediters, and commercial carriers to ensure timely delivery of parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Research and coordinate technical support sources CONUS and OCONUS; arrange transportation for maintenance personnel and equipment.
• Collect and maintain maintenance data, conduct system “deep dives,” analyze CASREP and REDLINE trends, and provide findings to leadership.
• Identify maintenance trends, problem areas, and deficiencies; provide timely reports and recommendations.
• Serve as Logistics Maintenance Advisor on committees, Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), and study groups.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance, repair, and salvage operations.
• Maintain coordination and communications across the LRC, staff, and Husbanding Service Providers (HSPs) to ensure effective last-mile delivery of materials and personnel.
• Provide maintenance-related inputs to the weekly Commander’s Update Brief and LOGSTAT reporting.
• Represent USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT in TYCOM, ISIC, and Fleet maintenance meetings, conferences, and teleconferences.
• Coordinate ancillary contracting actions for on-site technical support of theater-deployed assets (ships, submarines, aircraft, expeditionary maritime units).
• Manage travel and entry requirements (passports, visas, APACS, etc.) for maintenance personnel in compliance with Joint, Navy, and USSOUTHCOM directives.
• Support development of maintenance transportation policies with USSOUTHCOM, JIATF-S, and other DoD/DoN logistics agencies.
• Coordinate host nation Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs) on maintenance-related activities with relevant stakeholders.
• Support headquarters facility operations across four buildings and seven temporary facilities:
• Serve as Minor Property Custodian.
• Track projects and facility issues.
• Communicate repairs and maintenance to proper entities.
• Escort vendors and inspectors, manage event setups/teardowns, and perform minor modifications.
• Oversee daily facility maintenance and repair actions.
Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum 6 years of relevant naval maintenance/logistics experience.
• Strong background in Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (3M), with prior experience as Ship’s Maintenance Officer, 3MC, or CSMM.
• Knowledge of Navy maintenance programs, policies, and coordination of large-scale fleet maintenance operations.
• Experience with Husbanding Service Providers (HSPs), preferably under the Global Multiple Award Contract (MAC).
• Experience in AOR transportation management, unit-level maintenance and repair, classified material safeguarding, and shipping documentation (including HAZDEC certification for hazardous cargo).
• Familiarity with Navy logistics processes, readiness reporting, and CASREP analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Active Secret clearance required.
