You will be the Aircraft Mechanic I for our team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and optimal functionality of aircraft through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all mechanical systems and components.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aircraft Mechanic I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the airworthiness and optimal functionality of aircraft, including troubleshooting and repair, component repair and replacement, inspections and tests, and technical documentation.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing issues in aircraft systems, including landing gear, flight controls and surfaces, anti-icing systems, pneudraulic systems, engines, auxiliary power units, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Repairing, replacing, or rebuilding aircraft components such as drive systems, control systems, engines, and engine parts to maintain aircraft integrity and performance.
  • Conducting regular inspections, including 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, and periodic inspections, to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and performing tests to validate the functionality of aircraft systems.
  • Interpreting and applying information from manufacturers' and airlines' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering drawings, and technical data to guide maintenance activities.
  • Conducting preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft are ready for operation, perform safely during flight, and are properly secured after landing.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
Aircraft Handling: candidate must be capable of safely jacking and towing aircraft, which requires a thorough understanding of aircraft systems and handling procedures.

Maintenance Record Keeping: candidate exhibit ability to accurate document maintenance activities, including describing the work performed in maintenance records and military documentation systems.

Quality Verification: candidate must have experience in verification of maintenance work performed

Line Maintenance: candidate must have experience with service engines and airframe components in a flightline support role, making repairs as needed to keep the aircraft in operating condition.

Candidate must exhibit experience in working in a fast paced team environment as well as have the ability to work independently, with a focus on meeting schedule-sensitive operational goals in support of military operational units.

Candidate must have the ability to periodically require travel.
Desired Skills:
Specific Aircraft Experience: Experience as an MD-500 / AH/MH-6 / Small Helicopter maintainer, with expertise in performing inspections, dimensional checks, repairing, and overhauling components.

Adjacent Aircraft Experience: Familiarity and/or experience with CH/MH-47 and/or UH/MH-60 airframes. The role will periodically require flexibility and agility between airframes supported in the organization, requiring your assignment on differ MDS aircraft.

May be helpful to have experience/exposure to:
• Structural Repair: Repairing and modifying structural components and assemblies.
• Precision Repair: Working on precision and close tolerance components, which require high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Functional Spare Parts and Assemblies: Repairing and modifying functional spare parts and assemblies to ensure they are in good working condition.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
