USD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.

Description
Markon is seeking a System Administrator to join our team in Ballston Spa, NY supporting a government customer!
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and upgrade Linux-based (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows-based environments.
- Support secure software development and engineering workflows through system administration, automation, and monitoring.
- Manage and troubleshoot connectivity, networking, and system-level issues.
- Support version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized application environments.
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure infrastructure aligns with project needs.
- Contribute to the team's ongoing efforts in system hardening, security patching, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Must have active DOE 'Q' clearance to be considered.
- Proficiency with RHEL (or CentOS) administration.
- Familiarity with Linux shell commands.
- Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Understanding of basic networking (TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS).
- Familiarity with connectivity tools (SSH, wget, curl).
- Knowledge of application patching/upgrading.
- Experience with Git (version control, pull requests, reviews).
- Exposure to GitHub Actions/workflows and work tracking.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (installation, configuration, maintenance).
- Potential for telework up to 20%.
- Experience with containerization: Docker/Podman CLI and image operations (pull, tag, build, push).
- Understanding of container image registries (Redhat.io, Iron Bank, Docker.io, etc.).
- Familiarity with OpenShift (admin/developer console, oc/oc-mirror CLI tools).
- Knowledge of GitOps and Kustomize with ArgoCD.
- Experience with Quay Container Registry, Artifactory (package management).
- Skills in image CVE remediation and updates.
- Familiarity with tools such as: Mattermost, Jenkins, Jira/Bitbucket, Keycloak, PostgreSQL, Tekton.
- Knowledge of Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security or similar container/image scanning tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (console, resource management, cost analysis).
- Familiarity with Windows package management (Chocolatey).
Pay Scale:
- 5-9 years of experience - $120,000-$127,000
- 10+ years of experience - $128,000-$145,000
