Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, organizing and directing activities of an Air Traffic Control Facility (Tower and Radar); provide guidance on a wide range of tower/radar air traffic control duties to junior civilian and military air traffic control specialists; performing as Facility Watch Officer, Tower Supervisor or Radar Supervisor as required.

Conditions of Employment continued:
~You must possess a valid Control Tower Operator (CTO) and a valid Radar Approach Control certification. Must complete all training requirements within locally prescribed time limits to obtain and maintain a full facility rating in order to obtain and maintain a local facility Control Tower Operator (CTO) and Radar Approach Control Radar Approach Control certification and maintain currency of the same.
~ The incumbent must have the ability to meet and maintain on a continuing basis, the physical, mental, and medical standards for ATC duties as specified by the OPM qualification standard for GS-2152.
~ This position is covered as an Air Traffic Controller under 5 USC 2109.
~ The incumbent of this position must have the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time while controlling aircraft in an ATC facility. The incumbent of this position may be required to climb several flights of stairs to reach the Control Tower Cab.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

Help
- You will serve as first level supervisor, Assistant Air Traffic Manager (Facility Watch Officer), planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non supervisory employees.
- You will develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and air traffic control and airspace objectives.
- You will perform radar and tower control duties as defined and regulated in the applicable FAA, DoD, USN, USMC, ICAO, Host Nation Japan, and local directives, orders, regulations and procedures.
- You will perform duties as Facility Watch Officer, responsible for the overall operations of the facility and maintains general situational awareness of air traffic control.
- You will provide basic and advanced training for personnel to meet requirements for qualifications in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) career filed including FAA credentialing.
