The Plant Management Site Support Services/Distribs (S3D) operates within the Facility Management organization of WTCC and is responsible for developing the designs, engineering design change notices, ordering materials, and equipment maintenance activities for the non process buildings, shop, and equipment, including roughly 75 administrative and temporary buildings. Engineering activities can range from preparing excavation and backfill permits, inspecting mobile office installations, and ordering civil materials to designing platforms, initiating field changes to permanent plant facilities. The S3D group performs design, inspections, and field support to both direct hire craft and subcontractors, and develops work documentation for maintenance, modification, and new construction.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
  • Development of work plans, designs, and overseeing installation of a variety of tasks related to scaffold, formwork, rebar, concrete, steel, earthwork, excavation/backfill, and architectural installations.
  • Assist with rigging support and planning activities.
  • Perform takeoffs and initiate and track material requisitions for civil related commodities.
  • Perform and document inspections.
  • Assist with the technical coordination of the lock-out and tag-out program activities.
  • Coordinate with vendor Technical Advisors as required.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to resolve drawing issues.
  • Coordinate and inspect subcontractors work.
  • This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC.
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related discipline from an accredited university.
  • In lieu of degree, High School Diploma and 6 years of progressive construction related experience including but not limited to DOE experience, work package preparation, system turnover, excavations, backfill, concrete work, design and installation, construction testing


Preferred Experience:
  • Previous WTP, DOE, or DOD experience, construction a nuclear facility.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Safety Program and familiar with current industry standards.
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Knowledge of AISC and ACI codes.
  • Experience working with USA Building Trade Unions and craft professionals.
  • Previous experience using MicroStation or another CAD software package to develop or edit drawings.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Amentum visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,644.55 - $101,584.72 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
