About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Workday Trainer to join us. The Workday Trainer will lead end-to-end training for the new Workday HCM and Payroll implementation project. The Trainer will build the training strategy, design role-based curricula, develop job aids, and deliver training that drives fast adoption. Support change management and act as the "voice of the user" from testing through stabilization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Training Strategy & Planning
  • Own the Training Needs Analysis (roles, personas, impacts).
  • Build the training plan and role-based curriculum aligned to the cutover schedule.
  • Set success metrics and evaluation methods

Content Development
  • Create concise, 508-compliant materials: instructor guides, slide decks, QRGs, SOPs, eLearning, micro-videos, and simulations.
  • Maintain content version control and traceability to business processes.
  • Seed and maintain realistic training data in the tenant; coordinate with security for role-based access.

Delivery & Enablement
  • Deliver engaging live and virtual training classes
  • Run Train-the-Trainer for agency champions and HR/payroll super-users.

Change Management
  • Support change impact assessments for HCM/Payroll processes
  • Draft plain-language comms (what's changing, why, when, what to do).
  • Support stakeholder mapping and readiness checks.

Testing & Go-Live Support
  • Build role-based practice scripts aligned to UAT scenarios.
  • Provide floor support and virtual "office hours" during go-live and first payrolls.
  • Capture FAQs, refine job aids, and hand off to steady-state owners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • 4-6+ years in training design/delivery for Workday SaaS
  • Hands-on knowledge of Workday HCM and Payroll concepts: business processes, security, time/absence, benefits, compensation, retro/pay calc, audit reports.
  • Demonstrated experience training public-sector end users or large, unionized workforces.
  • Strong facilitation skills (in-person and virtual), with the ability to translate complex steps into simple, repeatable actions.
  • Proficiency with content tools (PowerPoint, Word, Snagit/Camtasia or equivalent; Articulate/Captivate a plus).
  • Familiarity with LMS administration
  • Accessibility: Builds Section 508/ADA-compliant materials.
  • Excellent writing skills; plain-language, role-based documentation


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Workday Pro or Workday certification (HCM and/or Payroll).
  • Experience with Workday Reporting basics (calculated fields, advanced reports) for training data and metrics.
  • Experience with digital adoption platforms
