As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (COMPENSATION) at the GS-0201-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serve as Project Officer and on-site subject matter expert for Federal prevailing rate wage surveys.
  • Plan, organize, manage and oversee pre-data collection processes and ensures the timely completion of associated survey tasks and takes appropriate action to overcome problems.
  • Work with Local Wage Survey Committees (LWSCs) and Data Collection Agents (DCAs) in the processes involved with managing, directing and performing the data collection phase of the survey.
  • Provide authoritative advice, training, and guidance to the LWSCs regarding all aspects of the review process to include survey management; forms completion; job matching; company and data acceptability; internal alignment of jobs; discriminatory rates; accuracy of wage rates and COLA; use of bonuses, lump sums, and incentive rates; use of contracts and rate sheets; etc.
  • Analyze survey data and prepare reports, recommendations, and correspondence summarizing the analysis and prepare exhibits for the DoD Wage Committee.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Planning or conducing Federal prevailing wage surveys
  • Performing duties as a Data Collection Agent to conduct and review wage surveys
  • Experience as a member of a Local Wage Survey Committee (LWSC)
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
