As a SUPERVISORY IT PROJECT MANAGER (PLCYPLN) at the GS-2210-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Provide technical and supervisory leadership and establish long-range work plans and schedules for in-service and contracted work in highly complex, technical work while dealing directly with SES level executives such as DHA, VA, and other key staff/leaders in DAFA and DoD organizations which directly impacts on millions of customers where any disruption in service could have significant consequences for our nation's veterans, their family members, and our federal employees.
- Responsible for the oversight and leadership guidance of the Division staff who plan for, develop and implement the program management plans to modernize DMDC's IT infrastructure and operations
- Provides government oversight for cloud migration activities and implementation of DHRA systems in cloud working with cross-organization team, supplies strategic and tactical direction, operational management of enterprise-wide cloud initiatives.
- Serves as the single point of contact for both internal agency and cross agency engineering communication and decision points. This will include the development or customization of collaborative architectures with external agencies to ensure that DMDC SLAs are met.
- Responsible for participating in various technical boards at DMDC, make decisions or recommendations that notably influence important IT policies or programs.
- Responsible for coordinating and completing all DMDC Data Center closures and system migrations from the DMDC owned infrastructure located at the DISA DECC in Columbus, Ohio.
- Direct participation in and oversight of the design and implementation of tools and technologies in accordance with contractual terms and agreements. This requires technical expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of contractual obligations.
- Capable of exercising delegated managerial authority to establish annual, multi-year, and long-range work plans and schedules for technological changes within DMDC computer operations. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, and anticipating future technological needs that support DoD, OSD, and other Federal agency programs that depend on DMDC's services and support.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating DMDC information technology requirements to leadership concerning strategic plans and policy requirements as well as translating DMDC corporate strategy into actionable IT Strategy goals and objectives.
- Ability to plan, develop and implement protocols for maintenance and security of the DMDC local and wide area networks, IT infrastructure and services.
- Interpret DoD policy and make local policy decisions which affect the Division and DMDC's ability to successfully manage DoD wide programs. Ensure adoption of emerging technologies, re-envisioning existing technology and future use cases, development of network architectures, configuration management, and developing processes and documentation for operational support.

- Plan and execute application/database migrations from legacy data centers into government approved cloud enclaves.
- Provide technical and supervisory leadership and establish strategic planning and policy long-range work plans and schedules for in-service and contracted work in a highly complex, technical IT/IS environment.
- Capable of establishing advanced IT theories, concepts, methods to implement cloud IT concepts such as DHRA Cloud Strategy Software (e.g., Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as Service (IaaS), and Cloud Security Implementation of security principles and methods) to protect cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Expert knowledge in the implementation of cybersecurity on a network consisting of Windows and Unix servers, networking devices, and Windows 11 devices across 4 different enclaves, including two cloud locations.
