Duties
Help
  • You will have knowledge of a wide range of safety and occupational health practices, concepts, principles and laws and regulations pertinent to the complex administrative responsibilities involved in the safety and occupational health program.
  • You will have knowledge of heavy industrial maintenance work processes sufficient to evaluate and determine causal factors contributing to accidents and resulting in hazardous working conditions.
  • You must have knowledge of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations and current legislative Issues.
  • You must have working knowledge of occupational health and related safety and environmental concepts, principles, and practices In order to perform occupational health inspections, portions of large and complex Inspections, or audits.
  • You must have the ability to identify and evaluate relatively conventional occupational health hazards or portions of large and complex inspections when information on the hazards is usually available.
  • You must have knowledge required to suggest, in general terms, possible approaches to the control of harmful exposures.
  • You must have knowledge of occupational health hazards found In industrial, construction, engineering, or environmental operations where processes are relatively simple and of a conventional nature in order to perform analysis of materials.
  • You must have skills in providing instruction and training to employees.

  • This position may be designated an "emergency-essential" position for contingency or natural disaster purposes.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases .
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Oversee, implement, and monitor the development, implementation, and maintenance of several facets of the hazardous material management program: conduct studies, inspections, and recommendations presented affect the operation for cost effectively procure hazardous materials and meet the environmental requirements: and communicate to a diverse audience both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work
