Job Summary:
We are seeking a Security Systems Specialist to join our team at NSWC Crane, where you will play a key role in protecting critical infrastructure through the maintenance and support of advanced electronic security systems. From surveillance cameras to access control and intrusion detection devices, you will ensure these vital systems remain reliable, secure, and mission-ready.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide maintenance and technical support required for ancillary facilities, modifications, firmware updates and installation of new Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and security devices in buildings and magazines located at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane
  • This includes the installation of security systems, digital video surveillance systems, and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors as required by NSWC Crane Security Office
  • This Security System Specialist shall provide technical support, modifications, yearly maintenance, inspections, trouble-shooting, firmware updates and repair of the on-site AMAG and Vindicator Security Systems, American Dynamics and Pelco Digital Video Surveillance Systems, and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors in all buildings located at NSA Crane that are part of either the AMAG or Vindicator security systems
  • AMAG knowledge desired but not required
  • Establish schedule for travel and coordination to maximize facility time
  • Facilitate customer changes, coordinated site review and training, and customer relations follow-up
  • This position requires a sense of urgency, attention to detail, flexibility within constraints of defined processes, ability to multi-task and the ability to work independently and with a team in secure areas
  • The ideal candidate must be motivated, professional in demeanor, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate will be required to follow all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur
  • Must be willing to cross-train into other types of equipment and systems as required
  • Ability to follow step-by-step instruction to complete tasking
  • Ability to read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Capable of using basic inspection and maintenance tools
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency in day-to-day performance
  • May be contacted after hours (on personal cell phone) for emergency response support for security issues infrequently

Experience and Skills:
  • HS/GED and four (4) years' experience or Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field and 0 years' experience
  • Must be able to work in a non-controlled climate (i.e., no air conditioning)
  • Must be able to use personal cell phone for after hours on call support As Needed
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, and management staff, including both DoD civilian, uniformed military, and contractor personnel
  • Must be able to climb ladder over 10'
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs.

Travel:
