SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). My experience includes expert knowledge of management methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies and processes within Air Force Special Operations Command; Expert knowledge of Air Force Special Operations command and USSOCOM operations and policies; Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of the day-to-day operations of a MAJCOM facility and equipment to include safety and security practices.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Expert knowledge of management methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies and processes within Air Force Special Operations Command. Expert knowledge of Air Force Special Operations command and USSOCOM operations and policies. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices of the day-to-day operations of a MAJCOM facility and equipment to include safety and security practices; Knowledge of basic Air Force/USSOCOM budgeting principles, concepts, and practices. Expert skill in formulating, justifying and preparing complete documentation for renovation, repair and alteration of HQ facility. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, advocate and advise on processes, actions, and decisions impacting AFSOC's mission. Ability to directly supervise, mentor, appraise, and provide supervisory guidance to military, civilian personnel. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

- Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Air Force Special Operations Command.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- Represents COMAFSOC with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- Direct and guided policy formulation for the conduct and operations of AFSOC A-Staff and Special-Staff functions.
- Works collaboratively with the contracting officers to approve terms and conditions set forth in contract negotiations, contracting plans, budgets, and changes to the scope of work to be done by contractors during long- and short-term HQ renovation plans.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
- Employee may be required to work and/or be "on call" after normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays and is subject to short- or no-notice recall to duty during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
- Employee will be required to attend periodic command and/or civic related social functions and related events after normal duty hours.

- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
