Job Description
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, has an opening for a Field Service Technician (FST). Candidate may work in any of our USN product lines (MK-38 25mm chain gun; MK-41 VLS; MK-45 5" gun; MK-63 Weather shields; and/or MK-110 57mm gun). Some schedules will require overtime, up to 60 hours per week including Saturday and may be asked to travel (up to 50%). Some of the work includes:

Under the direction of the team lead, candidate will be required to Install, test, repair, maintain, troubleshoot and remove electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems and equipment.
Assist in coordinating tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of test equipment and test procedures.
Applies conventional engineering practices to develop and prepare schematics, parts list, or make recommendation regarding these items.
Responds to Fleet emergency calls from customers and assigned Field Service personnel and maintains an inventory of parts and tooling for Field Service operations.

Conduct preliminary analysis of test results and report findings to senior employees'.

Assist in the preparation of required documentation and reporting to upper management.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Working knowledge of reading blueprints and technical repair standards.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, email, and calendar software.
Ability to gather information from a variety of sources.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Ability to work effectively with other personnel both inside and outside of the organization.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Education:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Two years vocational or mechanical training working with basic electrical/mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation tools and hardware plus two years of related work experience. May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification in electrical or mechanical systems will put candidate at the top of the list.
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience on U.S. Navy weapons systems (esp. MK-38, MK-41, MK-45 and MK-110) helpful but not required.
Relevant ordnance coursework or training helpful but not required.
Relevant work experience in the defense industry helpful but not required.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $51086 - $81738

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
