Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer/Architect to join a Federal Program working in Honolulu, HI.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer/Architect include:

· Serve as the principal network architect for both classified and unclassified HQ PACAF networks, including future-state architecture planning.

· Advise PACAF A6 leadership on technology selection, network optimization, and capability enhancement strategies.

· Assess enterprise architecture to ensure alignment with mission objectives, capacity requirements, and cybersecurity posture.

· Develop and present cost-benefit analyses, engineering strategies, and risk assessments for major system upgrades and transitions.

· Design and integrate solutions for data center operations, disaster recovery planning, and wireless network expansion.

· Lead strategic engineering initiatives and stakeholder engagement to support operational readiness and future force projection.

· Analyze network topology, protocol architecture, and integration plans to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

· Provide expert recommendations to address evolving operational IT requirements.

· Oversee design compliance, conduct risk assessments, and lead design reviews involving cross-domain and coalition connectivity solutions.

· Conduct site surveys to evaluate facility conditions and identify infrastructure upgrades impacting network installations and expansion projects.

· Perform additional duties as assigned to support mission success.

Qualifications for the Network Engineer/Architect include:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Architecture, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

· 8-10 years of senior-level experience in network architecture or engineering, supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or joint command environments.

· Must hold one or more of the following active certifications at the time of hire:

o CCNP (Routing and Switching) or CCDP (Design)

o CAP - Certified Authorization Professional

o SecurityX (formerly CASP+CE)

o CISM - Certified Information Security Manager

o CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (or Associate)

o GSLC - GIAC Security Leadership Certification

· Demonstrated success in designing and implementing secure, scalable enterprise networks for both classified and unclassified DoD environments.

· Expertise in network architecture, firewall policy development, routing protocols, Quality of Service (QoS), cloud enablement strategies, and cross-domain solutions.

· In-depth understanding of DoD architecture frameworks, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and PACAF-specific mission requirements.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service, team collaboration, and consensus-building.

· Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and consistent follow-through.

· Proven ability to:

o Exercise sound judgment and discretion in complex operational scenarios.

o Provide technical support across secure and non-secure network environments.

o Engage effectively with senior leadership in Joint Operations Centers, demonstrating technical expertise and professionalism.

· Must have an Active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Compensation for the Network Engineer/Architect includes:

· Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000 depending on experience

· Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
