Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Solar Array Manufacturing Engineer who will support a position in Midland, TX.

· Experience with Hesse and Amada welders
· 3+ years of hands-on experience in solar array manufacturing, wire bonding, or microelectronics assembly

Responsibilities for the Solar Array Manufacturing Engineer:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for solar array production, including solar cell tabbing, stringing, interconnection, and panel assembly.
- Operate and maintain Hesse ultrasonic wedge bonders for precision wire bonding of solar cells.
- Operate and program Amada resistance welding systems for bus bar attachment, interconnects, and structural bonding.
- Create process documentation, work instructions, and inspection criteria for production teams.
- Collaborate with design engineering to translate electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and assembly layouts into efficient production processes.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Define equipment requirements, perform capability studies, and ensure calibration of welding and bonding equipment.
- Train technicians and operators on best practices for solar cell handling, welding, bonding, and ESD safety.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput, reduce defects, and ensure aerospace-grade quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NASA, ESA, IPC, or equivalent) and cleanroom manufacturing protocols.

Compensation for the Solar Array Manufacturing Engineer:
- $80,000 to $85,000 *Depending on Experience
- Cigna Medical, dental, vision, Holidays, 401k, PTO and Sick leave as required by law
