Cyber Systems Engineering Manager - C5ISR

Contract Position
$60.52-$67.78/Hour
Active Secret Clearance Required to Start
Lead the development and integration of Cyber and C5ISR architectures across ground combat vehicle platforms, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and delivering integrated system-level engineering solutions within cost, schedule, and performance constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cyber architecture and systems engineering efforts supporting Ground Combat Platform programs.
- Coordinate with Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager, and Functional Leadership to align cyber activities with platform objectives.
- Oversee cyber-physical system design integration, ensuring compliance with vehicle-level SWaP-CRaM (Size, Weight, Power, Cost, Reliability, and Maintainability).
- Develop and manage system requirements, interface definitions, and design compliance documentation.
- Lead and contribute to threat analysis, risk assessment (TARA), and Cyber Tabletop Exercises (CTTX).
- Support the development of verification plans, manage test execution, and support field shakedowns and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Actions).
- Conduct and manage trade studies to evaluate design alternatives, balancing performance, cost, and cyber resilience.
- Review and evaluate Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and technical milestone artifacts.
- Interface with IPTs for system integration, requirement flow-down, and threat resolution.
- Evaluate and recommend new C5ISR and Cyber technologies for potential integration.
- Lead technical peer reviews, mentor junior engineers, and foster a cyber-aware engineering culture.
- Ensure system compliance with NIST SP 800-37, SP 800-53, and federal cyber regulations.
- Prepare and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and other cybersecurity documentation.
- Support classified material handling and ensure secure design integration across platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
(Relevant cybersecurity certifications and management credentials may be considered in lieu.) - 7+ years of experience in engineering or cyber-related roles.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience leading embedded system cybersecurity efforts, preferably in military or defense systems.
- Working knowledge of:
- TARA (Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment)
- Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS)
- CTTX (Cyber Tabletop Exercises)
- NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53 compliance
- SSP and POA&M development
- Familiarity with cyber-physical system security, embedded systems, and military vehicle platforms.
- Experience with system requirements decomposition, architecture, and interface management.
- Familiarity with electrical LRUs, hardware troubleshooting, and C5ISR systems integration.
- Strong understanding of software and systems engineering principles in a defense context.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Ability to travel up to 15%, including domestic and limited international trips.
- Must meet ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) and be able to work on or around military vehicles.
