Technical SETA (Optics/Photonics)

Ventus Solutions is seeking a skilled Technical SETA(Optics/Photonics) to provide direct support to a Program Manager (PM) with a specific focus on technical project management and execution in optics and photonics programs. The successful candidate will assess technical and programmatic risks, track performer progress, project outcomes, and ensure that project management best practices are applied across program funded performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) activities. Work Location: On-site: Ballston, VA.

Required Experience:
- Education: PhD in Optics or Photonics, OR Master’s degree + 3 years relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years relevant experience.
- Prior research experience in photonics or free-space optics.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Desired Experience:

- Knowledge of materials, optical modeling, fabrication, design, and optical communication methods.
- Ability to quickly learn new technical domains and gain insights into cutting-edge research.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to quick turnarounds.
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
