Senior Systems Engineer

Autonodyne is a dynamic Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in software architecture, systems integration, and interface design. They excel at defining new and adhering to existing architecture frameworks, generating and managing complex project requirements, and generating test plans to verify requirements. With expertise in requirements tracing, MBSE, and Jira, they are adept at tracking deliverables, mitigating risks, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Their strong communication skills enable them to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including program CONOPs, software architecture, project requirements, V&V test plans and procedures, decision records, ICDs, and user guides.
Manage software projects with a unique blend of systems engineering and agile software processes.
Lead teams of software developers in the preparation, planning, and management of contracted deliverables.
Generate and manage software requirements based on contract requirements and stakeholder needs.
Create user stories with input from key stakeholders.
Determine and manage tasks, issues, risks, and action items across projects.
Monitor progress and performance while helping teams to make improvements.
Generate and execute test plans to verify project requirements.
Plan and organize product testing, reviews, and demos.
Ensure proper use of collaborative processes/tools and remove impediments for software developers.
Use Jira to track project processes and deliverables.
Support flight test, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role.
Experience with the Systems Engineering concepts of requirements analysis, system architecture, system integration, verification and validation, and lifecycle management.
Experience with project management/tracking tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and/or MS Project.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with team members, internal leadership, and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects and assignments.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new domains, technologies, and priorities.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
US Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of scrum and agile software processes.
Experience with MBSE.
Experience in GIT version-control software.
Experience with an object-oriented programming language.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Travel:
This position will likely involve travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 20%) but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
