MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented System Safety Test Engineer to join our team in King George, VA. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Safety Branch B72 manage the system safety testing of combat systems for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) AEGIS baselines for Korea, Japan, Australia, and Spain, as well as special FMS projects such as Japan ASEV and Guam AGS. The safety testing and assessment is in support of making software certification decisions
  • Review draft combat system test procedures, with a primary focus on the safety section to ensure full test coverage of safety related features affected by a new baseline
  • Attend pre-test meeting, test events, and post-test meetings, taking notes, provide reports, and brief customers/baseline government leads on the safety assessment of the system under test
  • Review test reports and data when not present at a test event to track issues and status for the baseline and site
  • Report safety related Problem Reports (PRs) or Test Observation Reports (TORs) to government safety leads
  • Up to 25% travel mainly CONUS


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with the Aegis Combat System as well as interfacing sensors and ship systems
  • 3+ years general experience in the engineering, design, development, or testing and evaluation of a Navy combat system
  • 2+ years of recent experience with Test requirements definition, Test Plan/Procedures development, maintenance, and execution, Test data reduction and analysis, and Computer program performance analysis and reporting


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as an Aegis Weapon Systems supervisor and System Test Engineer is recommended and highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System, including the basic operation of all stations and consoles, specifically Missile System Supervisor (MSS), Radar System Controller (RSC), Combat System Coordinator (CSC), and Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC) is highly desirable


Clearance Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required and an active Secret Clearance


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office or test lab for communication and accessing resources.
