DevOps Automation Engineer

As the DevOps Automation Engineer, the indiviudal will be working with various automation tools and technologies, scripting, and collaborating with development and operations teams to streamline processes and support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs, developments, testing, and evaluates information systems throughout the systems development lifecycle
  • Plans, implements, and operates communications systems, to include on-premise and virtual environments
  • Designs, implements, and manages automation solutions that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the organization's infrastructure and applications
  • Designs, develop, and implement automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerCLI
  • Creates and maintain scripts using Python, JavaScript, and other relevant languages
  • Develops and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions to ensure consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
  • Integrates automated testing and deployment processes to ensure high-quality releases
  • Collaborates with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications
  • Manages cloud and on-premises infrastructure using VMware technologies and other virtualization platforms
  • Utilizes VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) to automate provisioning and management of virtual resources
  • Leverages VMware Cloud Management and Automation (VCP-CMA) capabilities to enhance automation workflows
  • Monitors the performance, availability, and security of automated systems and processes
  • Optimizes automation solutions to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance scalability
  • Troubleshoots and resolve issues related to automation processes and CI/CD pipelines
  • Works closely with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions
  • Provides technical support and guidance on automation tools and practices
  • Conducts training sessions and create documentation to support the adoption of automation technologies
  • Implements security best practices within automation solutions to protect infrastructure and applications
  • Ensures compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards in all automation activities
  • Stays updated with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps and automation
  • Identifies opportunities for improving existing processes and implement enhancements
  • Participates in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
  • Must have a Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
  • Min 5 years' experience
  • Knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, Java, .NET, C#, HTML
  • Possess SQL Development experience
  • Possess coding and programming expertise
  • Ability to identify software bugs and collaborate on solutions
  • Experience with data analysis and tracking metrics
  • Understanding of quality assurance best practices
  • Familiarity with software engineering tools
  • Possess a current Security+ certification
  • Experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Automation (vRA), and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO)
  • Knowledge of VMware Cloud Management and Automation (VCP-CMA) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms, or automation technologies are a plus
