Systems Engineer
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer to support our client at Fort Meade, MD. This position plays a critical role in the integration of GOTS products into complex operational architectures, supporting dynamic, mission-critical environments. The selected candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams—including software developers, analysts, and field engineers—to design, document, and optimize interoperable system solutions across secure platforms. This role involves hands-on support to live mission operations, real-time troubleshooting, and comprehensive systems engineering across a range of RF and SATCOM-enabled platforms. The ideal candidate will contribute to full lifecycle engineering activities, from requirements analysis and system design through integration, verification, and validation. A strong understanding of RF systems, cross-platform environments (Linux and Windows), and secure dataflows is essential to ensure seamless capability delivery in support of national-level intelligence operations
Tasks Performed:
• Integrate government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products into existing and emerging operational architectures.
• Develop and maintain detailed system documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration management artifacts.
• Provide real-time technical support for live mission operations and resolve system issues across multiple platforms.
• Lead or support systems engineering processes including requirements gathering, design, integration, testing, and validation.
• Ensure cross-platform interoperability (Linux and Windows), focusing on secure integration of tools such as NiFi, DRT, and SATCOM RF-based signal processing systems.
• Design, test, and optimize RF systems, antennas, and signal paths for deployment on collection platforms.
• Apply expert knowledge of SATCOM RF technologies to enhance signal collection, geolocation, and intelligence analysis workflows.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED with at least 19 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, or related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading/supporting full lifecycle systems engineering activities—including requirements analysis, system design, integration, verification, and validation—across mission-critical platforms.
• Experience providing cross-platform integration in Linux and Windows environments, ensuring secure and seamless interoperability for tools including NiFi, DRT, and SATCOM RF-based signal processing systems.
• Experience designing, testing, and optimizing RF systems, antennas, and signal paths with direct application to collection platforms.
• Experience applying advanced SATCOM RF knowledge to enhance signal collection, geolocation, and analysis workflows, supporting national-level intelligence objectives.
• Experience with Linux / Unix command-line.
• Experience with Windows.
• Experience with Scripting (Bash, Shell and/or Python).
• Experience with Apache NiFi.
• Experience with DRT.
• Experience with SATCOM RF-based signal processing.
Other Job Requirements:
• Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check.
