Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Ordnance Handling Equipment/Material Handling Equipment Technician I in San Diego, CA.

Job Summary: Under instruction from senior technicians, this position will provide technical assistance, assessment, inspection, repair, overhaul, and weight testing of shipboard hoist, Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to senior technicians

• Receives the equipment from ship's force, assess the condition, provide a receipt assessment report providing recommendations for repair, and perform repairs/overhauls

• Follows technical instructions, technical manual procedures and senior technician direction, repair, maintain and/or overhaul OHE/MHE handling equipment mechanical components

• Provides shipboard technical assistance, and make necessary adjustments to handling equipment in support of testing and certification of ship's systems

• Becomes proficient in the use of tools, equipment, weight test fixtures, and any/all other items/services to accomplish assigned OHE/MHE tasking

• Uses the following equipment to perform this task shall include the following:

o Dollies/Hand Trucks (repair, overhaul, and weight test)

o Adapters/Beams/Carriers/Strong backs (weight test)

o Slings/Pendants (weight test only, unless specified otherwise)

o Pallet Trucks (repair, overhaul, and weight test)

o Manual, Ratchet, Pneumatic, and Electric Chain Hoists up to 12 Tons (repair, overhaul, and weight test)

• Determines causes of operating errors and provide input as to possible corrective measures

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years' experience of hands on repair, maintenance and overhaul of mechanical equipment.

• Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance

• Knowledge of principals involved in the repair of equipment in accordance with technical plans, blueprints, drawings and technical manuals

• Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts

• Effective oral and written communications and listening skills

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $23.31- $26.07 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

ADA Notations:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to operate forklift, man lift and scissor lift

• Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, visual skills and manual dexterity

• Ability to go shipboard and work in a shipboard environment

• Industrial work environment includes working in high noise level areas and in warm and cool weather conditions
