📌 Position Overview
ASEI is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of 6–8 engineers in Niceville, FL. This hybrid role blends technical leadership with individual contribution, supporting multiple programs across ASEI’s product lines, including weapons, munitions, and navigation systems.
This position is open due to a relocation and is ready to be filled ASAP.
🔧 Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on real-time systems
Contribute directly to development efforts in C++, C#, Python, and Java
Oversee multiple programs simultaneously—no siloed projects
Drive rapid prototyping and fast-paced development cycles
Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure product integration
Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps for CI/CD and project tracking
Delegate effectively while staying hands-on with technical challenges
Support growth initiatives, especially in the expanding munitions sector
Ensure all work adds value—no filler, no bureaucracy
🧠 Requirements
U.S. Citizenship (USC) and eligibility for a security clearance
15–18 years of experience in software engineering, with leadership roles
Strong background in real-time systems, Linux, RTOS, and VxWorks
Experience in defense-related software: weapons, munitions, navigation
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean environment
Must be able to work full-time onsite (core hours: M–F, 8am–3pm)
Prefer candidates with 5–10+ years left in their career—not near retirement
Open to contract-to-hire (CTH) or direct hire depending on candidate preference
