We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and execute complex avionics and electronic hardware development projects. This role is responsible for planning and driving project execution, coordinating cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware/FPGA, systems, test, manufacturing), ensuring technical compliance to avionic standards, and delivering customer-ready hardware on schedule and within budget.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day execution of electronic and avionics hardware development projects, including schedule, technical risk, and status reporting.
  • Define technical requirements, verification plans, and acceptance criteria for electronic and avionic hardware deliverables.
  • Coordinate FPGA development efforts with digital design and firmware teams; ensure correct integration of FPGA IP, timing closure, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Oversee schematic and PCB development cycles, component selection, DFM/DFT considerations, and design reviews.
  • Ensure designs meet avionics-relevant standards and environmental requirements (EMC/EMI, thermal, vibration, DO-160, etc.).
  • Manage cross-functional trade studies and technical decision-making, escalating issues and mitigating risks proactively.
  • Drive integration, verification, and validation activities in lab and flight-test environments; coordinate test plans and test resources.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers on technical and programmatic matters; support proposals and technical reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • Experience in avionics hardware development and familiarity with avionics standards
  • FPGA development experience: RTL design (VHDL/Verilog), synthesis, timing closure, and hardware bring-up practices
  • Experience with mixed-signal PCB design, signal integrity, power distribution, and connector systems used in aerospace
  • Experience with hardware verification/validation, lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers), and test automation


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced technical certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interact with customers.
  • Direct experience with DO-254 and DO-178 processes or working in regulated avionics certification programs.
  • Experience with high-reliability components, obsolescence management, and procurement for aerospace programs.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and supplier technical performance.
  • Active Security clearance

Summary pay range: $140,250 - $189,750
