The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day HR activities, i ncluding but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, personnel actions, compliance, and employee relations. Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
- Process employment verifications.
- Schedule and participate in new hire orientation.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to transfers, promotion, change of status, and internal audits.
- Maintain electronic personnel files.
- Assist in ensuring departmental compliance with ISO and CMMI requirements by participating in audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Serve as HR Liaison on the Employee Engagement team and assist with coordinating volunteer functions, social events, educational content, and social media campaigns to engage and build community within the company culture.
- Respond to employment-related daily inquiries from employees, and their supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the department manager.
- Assist with employee relations investigations and counseling's.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Human Resources SharePoint site, HRIS, and HR materials.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience working in government contracting, preferably with OCONUS employees.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, be flexible, motivated, resourceful and organized to work in a multi-functional role
- Excellent diplomacy and judgment when handling confidential and challenging situations.
- Ability to adapt to change and perform as a change champion.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn ADP Workforce Now.
Desired Qualification
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Federal contracting industry experience.
- Experience with ISO documentation requirements.
- Professional HR Certification (PHR, or SHRM- CP).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent education/experience required.
