As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Lihue, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .
As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. Your responsibilities will include conducting security-related screenings, monitoring access points, and verifying credentials to help to deter potential incidents. You will utilize your attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service while upholding security-related protocols. Remaining visible and approachable, you will be an important presence at the location, assisting with inquiries and directing individuals as needed. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies tailored for government court locations.
- Screen individuals entering the premises to help to deter prohibited items and unauthorized access.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Monitor entrances and exits, verifying identification as required by location guidelines.
- Assist with emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.
- Maintain a visible presence at assigned posts to help to deter disruptive behavior and support order within the location.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A valid Security Guard Card or license is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
