Key Responsibilities:
KBR is seeking a part time Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Developer (Associate) to join a team of quantitative analysts, modelers, and developers to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of emerging concepts for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) using advanced MS&A techniques and tools. Position has option to become full time.
The ideal candidate will:

• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Standard, Part Time

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.

Key Responsibilities:
KBR is seeking a part time Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Developer (Associate) to join a team of quantitative analysts, modelers, and developers to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of emerging concepts for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) using advanced MS&A techniques and tools. Position has option to become full time.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to think creatively and offer grounded solutions when appropriate.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment supporting M&S and software development efforts.
- Be familiar with the Software Development Process and best practices.
- Collaborate with military subject matter experts and DARPA program managers to characterize architectures and concepts under study in the simulation environment.
- Instantiate combat system, platform, and behavior models in the simulation environment.
- Instantiate kill chains, battle management command and control relationships, and other scenario-specific mission and operational factors in the simulation environment.
- Be able to conduct assigned tasks in support of a broader analytic or modeling effort.
- Contribute to the creation of quality deliverables and reports.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- Entry level knowledge of simulation analysis and experiment design & analysis techniques
- Familiar with agent-based modeling and simulation
- Familiarity with state machines
- Skilled in C++ plus one or more of the following: R, Python, JupyterLab and/or Jupyter Notebook
- Strong understanding of GitHub, BitBucket or similar software management repository
- Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility within 18 months
Desired:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- A minimum of 1 year of MS&A experience in a combat modeling & simulation environment such as AFSIM or NGTS
- Strong understanding of state machines and how they relate to behavior modeling and/or logic
