Equipment Installation Technician

MANTECH seeks a motivated and career-oriented Equipment Installation Technician to join our team in McLean, VA.

In this role, you will support dynamic mission requirements by setting up productive and collaborative computer workspaces-both new and renovated-across classified environments. You will play a hands-on role in ensuring reliable connectivity, proper equipment configuration, and successful workspace deployments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Installing and configuring desktop computers, monitors, printers, phones, and related IT hardware.
• Connecting systems to networks and power infrastructure.
• Testing installed equipment to confirm operational status.
• Performing basic troubleshooting during setup to resolve common issues.
• Maintaining records of completed installations and reporting status updates.
• Traveling locally between customer sites and supporting short-term assignments as needed.
• Working a fixed shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM as part of a broader team providing coverage from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience.
• Basic understanding of IT hardware including desktops, printers, and networking components.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions related to equipment installation and setup.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CompTIA A+ or equivalent entry-level IT certification.
• Prior experience in IT support, hardware installation, or structured cabling.
• Familiarity with basic network connectivity and troubleshooting concepts.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and learn new tools on the job.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain stationary for at least 25% of the time.
• Must be able to operate computers, phones, and standard office equipment for extended durations.
• Must be able to move between office locations, including accessing areas under desks, inside server closets, or beneath raised floors, some of which may be confined.
• Must be able to lift and transport IT or AV equipment weighing over 50 pounds using appropriate tools or assistance.
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders exceeding 10 feet while routing cables and installing hardware.
