Description
The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos seeks physicists who can lead and perform research and development efforts. This position will be responsible for R&D activities that support data analytics as well as modeling and simulation efforts. R&D activities span various scientific disciplines and technologies.
A successful applicant is expected to be able to convert scientific theory to specific applications of interest.
The applicant should also be able to mentor other staff members and lead teams working on R&D projects.
The applicant is also expected to write project proposals to the customer as needed.
Working knowledge of IT systems is also required.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
• Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearance
• Ph.D. or equivalent in a science discipline and 15+ years of experience
• 10+ years’ experience in the intelligence and/or DoD communities
• 5+ years’ experience with software development
• Ability to work closely with users to design, build, prototype, and deploy software systems within highly managed government environments
• Experience using Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools to create documents and briefings
• Ability to work individually, as well as within a larger team construct
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and customer relation skills
• Highly detail-oriented
• Adept at working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to resolve complex, unclear problems and issues with research and nontraditional solutions
• Ability to perform threat and vulnerability analyses
• Program/project management skills
Desired Technical Qualifications:
• Understanding of physics as applied in geo-technologies
• Understanding of cyber technology

Pay Range: Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
