Job Summary
KBR is looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist/Engineer to work in the Electronic Components Branch (RYDD) of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Sensors Directorate at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The candidate will focus on epitaxial growth of GaN, AlGaN/GaN and Ga2O3 structures for high power and radio frequency transistors by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) as part of multiple on-going AFRL research projects. The candidate will develop epitaxial growth processes and maintain/manage MOCVD growth equipment for nitride and oxide semiconductors. A successful applicant should be well organized, be able to learn new techniques quickly, work collaboratively with a diverse group, and generate new ideas and solutions to problems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Epitaxial growth: Grow GaN, AlGaN/GaN and Ga2O3 structures for high power and radio frequency transistors by metal organic chemical vapor deposition
- Process Development: Develop epitaxial growth processes.
- Maintain/Manage Equipment: Maintain/manage MOCVD growth equipment for nitride and oxide semiconductors.
Work Environment:
- Location: On-site at AFRL
- Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
- Working Hours: Standard
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Must have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field from an accredited university with 4 years' experience (Masters or PhD is highly desired)
- Semiconductor processing equipment experience: experience in managing semiconductor processing equipment, process development, and materials characterization and analysis.
- Semiconductor laboratory facility management experience: experience in managing semiconductor lab facilities.
- Must meet AFRL requirements to access Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience with thin film deposition including MOCVD is a plus
- Self-Motivated
- Be able to work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Computer literate
