Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a federal program onsite in Honolulu, HI. The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing the risk of operating a network including DoD and Army compliance requirements of the DODIN-AP network. It will include A&A management for 11 separate networks. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

• Administer and support VDI Thin Client systems, ensuring integration with VOIP, VMware, Microsoft Teams, and video conferencing across secure and non-secure networks.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot VDI environments, including software deployments and security patching.
• Monitor system health, perform repairs, and maintain operational readiness of VDI infrastructure.
• Provide end-user support for VDI-related issues with a focus on responsiveness and customer service.
• Manage access controls and system security in compliance with organizational policies.
• Maintain documentation including SOPs, configurations, workflows, and routine procedures.
• Report on system performance, incidents, and open issues regularly.
• Support VOIP phone systems and Microsoft Teams functionality across classified and unclassified networks.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure reliable IT operations and mission-critical communications.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in Network Engineering demonstrating experience managing and troubleshooting various complex network systems.
• Requires an Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• One or more of the following CISCO certifications in ACTIVE status:
  • CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Compensation for Network Engineer (Tier 3):

• Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 (based on experience)
