The F-35 Sensor Fusion team is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our team in developing the next generation of Sensor Fusion algorithms. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, modeling, analyzing and testing Sensor Fusion algorithms as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into Fusion applications.
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer (Sensor Fusion). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, modeling, analyzing and testing Sensor Fusion algorithms as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into Fusion applications. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of C++, MATLAB, and a strong mathematical foundation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- Experience with C++ and MATLAB
- Strong mathematical foundation in Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, and Statistics
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Desired Skills:
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP)/Object Oriented Design (OOD)
- Experience with conventional tracking approaches (Kalman Filter, Extended Kalman Filter, Unscented Kalman Filter, Particle Filter) and/or geolocation and applications of these approaches
- Experience modeling vehicle motion, sensor modeling, non-linear optimization, developing data association algorithms, and prior sensor fusion experience
- Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience - (Windows & Linux)
- Experience implementing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms in real time operating systems
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
