About The Role

Peraton's Cyber Mission supports the United States Air Force by delivering mission-critical Cyber professionals who defend our nation's security. Our team of experts provides innovative engineering, logistics, sustainment, and customer support to ensure the functionality of network infrastructure, while addressing the most complex cyber operations and national defense challenges.

Peraton is seeking a Information Technology Security, Advisor to support our mission to defend and protect our national security.

The Information Technology Security, Advisor ensures the security and integrity of IT systems by overseeing RMF processes, guiding security authorization workflows, and advising on implementation of security controls. They provide continuous oversight and consultative support to stakeholders, enabling secure mission operations and compliance with cyber operations standards.

Responsibilities may include:

The Information Technology Security, Advisor will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
  • Implement and oversee Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps across assigned systems to drive security authorization processes.
  • Advise stakeholders on security control implementation and documentation to support system Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, including Security Authorization packages and Body of Evidence (BoE) artifacts.
  • Coordinate with Information Assurance leadership to ensure alignment with CNSSI, DoDI, ICD, and other cyber operations directives.
  • Monitor and update security controls throughout the system lifecycle to sustain continuous compliance.
  • Analyze system vulnerabilities and recommend corrective action to preserve cyber operations posture.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience OR a Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
  • US Citizenship and a current active TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI.
  • Must comply with DoD 8140/DCWF Work Role 722 requirements, including holding an approved baseline certification and meeting all KSAs for managing cybersecurity programs, enforcing policies, and overseeing incident response activities.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing RMF and leading Security Authorization (ATO) processes.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage comprehensive security documentation packages such as BoE.
  • Proven skill advising technical and leadership stakeholders on cyber ops control selection and implementation.
  • Familiarity with major cyber ops frameworks and directives such as CNSSI, DoDI, and ICD families.
  • Experience analyzing systems for security vulnerabilities and recommending remediation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in cyber risk analysis and resilience planning in defense environments.
  • Familiarity with developing security awareness or training programs for IT teams.
  • Background in managing security across hybrid environments including cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Understanding of emerging cyber ops threats and alignment of security posture accordingly.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
