About The Role

Navy Qualified Validator - Cyber Security & Cloud Specialist

Location: Hybrid with on-site presence either at Navy Yard, Washington DC and/or Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA (Dam Neck) per customer's request.
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Calling All Navy Qualified Validators

Are you interested to become a certified NQV with deep expertise in cybersecurity and cloud platforms like AWS? Peraton is looking for mission-focused professionals to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in securing critical systems and networks that power naval operations.

This is a chance to develop your validation skills in a high-impact environment-where your assessments directly influence the security posture of the U.S. Navy's most vital technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Navy Qualified Validator, you'll lead efforts to assess, validate, and sustain RMF authorization packages for both traditional and cloud-based systems. Your work will help ensure secure operations across NSWCDD and SWCDD Dam Neck Activity.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conduct RMF security control assessments and document results in eMASS
  • Collaborate with SCAs to develop Security Assessment Reports (SARs) and executive summaries
  • Perform risk assessments and update POA&Ms based on findings
  • Ensure traceability of vulnerabilities and support continuous monitoring
  • Validate cybersecurity compliance for AWS-hosted systems and hybrid environments
  • Advise on secure cloud architecture and integration with RMF processes

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Mission
  • Min 10 years with BS/BA, Minimum of 8 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 5 years with PhD
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI as needed
  • Must be able to obtain a Navy Qualified Validator certification within 90 days of start date.
  • Strong background in AWS cloud security, architecture, and compliance
  • IAM Level III Certification / acceptable certifications include:
    • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
    • GSLC (GIAC Security Leadership Certification)
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CCISO (Certified Chief Information Security Officer)
  • Proven experience with DIACAP/RMF and DoD cybersecurity standards
  • Mastery of eMASS workflows and documentation
  • Hands-on experience with ACAS/Nessus and vulnerability scanning tools
  • Current or ability to obtain U.S. Passport
  • Ability to travel up 25%

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
