Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on incident response, digital forensics, and threat intelligence including experience in detecting, analyzing, containing, and remediating cyber threats.
  • 4 years of people management experience.
  • Experience leading and managing the full incident response lifecycle, from initial triage and containment to eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in using a wide range of security tools, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms, network analysis tools, and forensic software.
  • Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive incident response plans, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Understanding of current and emerging cyber threats, attack methodologies, and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent leadership skills to build, mentor, and manage a team of incident responders.

About the job
As the Cyber Security Practice Lead, you will be responsible for the overall direction and operational management of the incident response practice, and adjacent domains in support of Google Public Sector Markets. You will lead a team of security professionals, overseeing everything from their professional development to the efficient allocation of resources during a crisis. As the primary client contact, you provide trusted advisement to customers during security breaches, leading executive communications, guiding responses, and building long-term relationships through the Market and Google alike. Leveraging your deep understanding of the threat landscape to ensure the team's methodologies and services are cutting-edge and effective. Additionally, as a Practice Leader you will manage a team of Incident Response professionals towards success; growing key talent and mentoring the team into the next generation of Google Cyber Capability.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $211,000-$297,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a goal for the cyber security practice, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cyber security professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and performance.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Manage practice-level budgets, financial performance, and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key internal and external clients, building and maintaining excellent relationships. Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and clients on cyber security matters.
  • Maintain and understand the cyber security landscape, including emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, and industry participation.
