Position Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RTL Networks considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Summary:
RTL Networks has an exciting opportunity for a DoD SECRET cleared Systems Engineer to join our team providing engineering support to the Combined Orbital Operations Logistics and Resiliency (COOLR Sustainment) program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities of the Systems Engineer include, but are not limited to:
• Systems administration and help desk expertise for sustainment/development environments on MASC, covering Windows, Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and other operating systems.
• Configuration, data management, and software builds using Change Management (CM) tools.
• Collaboration with functional teams to resolve findings/issues and participate in Agile activities.
• Development and application of cybersecurity solutions, ensuring compliance with computer security policy and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Performance of software installs, updates, and patches, including troubleshooting and support.
• Maintenance and development of documentation, including Version Description Documents (VDDs) and job aides.
• Support for Digital Transformation activities, CDRL preparations, and ad hoc MASC projects.
• Generation and documentation of metrics, tracking and documenting all efforts.
• Travel to remote sites as needed to perform efforts.
• Provision of support across the program information systems, including troubleshooting and remediation of issues.
• Conduct safe and media audits, control documents and media, and generate, label, and ship media.
• Perform Restricted Data (RD) scans and baseline existing and new documents in SharePoint.
• Use project management tools, such as Jira, to support efforts.
• Develop and apply scripts to automate work where possible.
• Monitor computer system usage, network links, and virtual environments.
• Ensure compliance with Change Management (CM) processes and apply Operating System updates, antivirus, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) patching/updates.
• Troubleshoot Virtual Memory System (VMS) and Solaris issues, and execute and monitor performance of VMS and Solaris system backups.
• Perform periodic Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software assessments and maintain Security Content Automation Protocol/Security Technical Information Guide (SCAP/STIGS) tools.
Qualifications:
• Advanced degree and 0 years’ experience or bachelor’s degree and 0-2+ years’ experience or equivalent.
• Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+CE).
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
NOTE:

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Applicants must have a valid driver’s license for this position and will be subject to verification.
