Help

• You will use standard techniques and tools to make repairs entailing similar tasks as directed on less complex electronic equipment
• You will be using measuring devices such as tapes, rules, wire gauges, micrometers, and calipers to perform routine assembly and/or repair functions.
• You will be operating automated test equipment (ATB) to perform standardized testing operations.
• You will be using test equipment following prescribed procedures and precise instructions to determine needed repairs. Records results if necessary.
• You will perform standard soldering operations on multiple subassemblies, such as printed circuit boards, cable/harness assemblies, connectors, and power supply assemblies. (May be required to be certified to MIL-SOT 2000).
• You will use blueprints, basic schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams, when performing assembly and repair duties.
• You will locate the points in a circuit from which to take readings to determine which components could cause observed malfunction indications.

• This position requires the employee to possess the applicable license(s) or authorization(s) to operate assigned equipment.
• This position requires being able to obtain and maintain current certification to perform various types of soldering work.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
• This position may or may not be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.

This position requires the ability to frequently lifts and carry up to 40 lbs. May require assistance with heavier objects.

You will be required to work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, and in cramped or awkward positions.

You may be required to work in high places.

You will be required to distinguish colors and shades of colors for color coding.

You will be required to perform in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas.

You will be subject to injuries such as electrical shock, cuts, bruises, and burns.

This position is subject to working inside aircrafts, ships, high places, and/or outside in inclement weather.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
