Duties
Help
  • You will use standard techniques and tools to make repairs entailing similar tasks as directed on less complex electronic equipment
  • You will be using measuring devices such as tapes, rules, wire gauges, micrometers, and calipers to perform routine assembly and/or repair functions.
  • You will be operating automated test equipment (ATB) to perform standardized testing operations.
  • You will be using test equipment following prescribed procedures and precise instructions to determine needed repairs. Records results if necessary.
  • You will perform standard soldering operations on multiple subassemblies, such as printed circuit boards, cable/harness assemblies, connectors, and power supply assemblies. (May be required to be certified to MIL-SOT 2000).
  • You will use blueprints, basic schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams, when performing assembly and repair duties.
  • You will locate the points in a circuit from which to take readings to determine which components could cause observed malfunction indications.

  • This position requires being able to obtain and maintain current certification to perform various types of soldering work.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • This position may or may not be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.

This position requires the ability to frequently lifts and carry up to 40 lbs. May require assistance with heavier objects.
