Program Overview
RIVA Solutions is seeking a MacOS System Administrator to support the Global Monitoring Laboratory (GML) of the Earth System Research Laboratories (ESRL). This is a hands-on, onsite role based in Boulder, CO, providing technical administration and support for Apple macOS desktops, laptops, and peripheral systems in a scientific laboratory environment. The candidate will work directly with end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues and will help maintain a secure and efficient desktop computing environment.
Role Overview
The MacOS System Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day support of macOS workstations and laptops, software installations and updates, hardware troubleshooting, and providing direct helpdesk support to users. This role includes supporting Google Workspace tools, AV conferencing setups, and maintaining accurate documentation and processes. The ideal candidate will bring a customer-first mindset, strong macOS system knowledge, and solid troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
Provide direct user support for macOS systems, including helpdesk ticket resolution.
Build and image new macOS systems and manage OS and software patching.
Support Google Workspace for Government (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Voice).
Set up and support AV and conference room equipment.
Assist with hardware installations and peripheral troubleshooting.
Update and maintain user guides, process documentation, and technical SOPs.
Support occasional Windows-related issues and general helpdesk duties as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline OR equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in macOS system administration and direct customer support.
Experience providing support to Apple MacOS computer users, and thorough familiarity with MacOS and tools. Familiarity with JAMF is highly desirable.
Experience with imaging, patch management, and desktop system builds.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Salary
Up to $105,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
