MQ-25 Deputy Maintenance Officer

KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Deputy Maintenance Officer (DMO) in Patuxent River, MD, supporting VX-23 and the MQ-25 Stingray. The MQ-25 Stingray is the U.S. Navy's first operational, carrier-based unmanned aircraft system (UAS). Its primary mission is to provide aerial refueling and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to extend the range and versatility of the Carrier Air Wing (CVW) and Carrier Strike Group (CSG). It is a cornerstone of the Navy's Unmanned Campaign Framework, laying the foundation for future carrier-based unmanned systems and enabling manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) operations.

Our highly talented and experienced aircrew services team has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long-term incumbent and leader in flight test, the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor, and industry personnel while supporting flight test.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Basic Compensation : $107,000-146,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Supports the Maintenance Officer (MO) at Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO THREE (VX-23), NAS Patuxent River, MD.
- Support will be in all aspects and analysis of aircraft maintenance to include planning, budgeting, oversight, and analytical evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the maintenance effort in support of program/project objectives.
- Provides continuous interface with the VX-23 leadership, Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL), NAVAIR Program Offices, and logistics support leadership to monitor performance and conduct joint short, mid and long-term planning for the long-term sustainment of the MQ-25 platform and related support personnel.
- Support and provide management, business analyses, and technical leadership to assigned maintenance team.
- Analyze and oversee activities of staff divisions (Quality Assurance, Logs and Records, Technical Library, Data Analysis), and overall department management.
- Assists the MO with planning the aircraft operating and maintenance budget, determining resources and allocation of those resources to support program/project execution on cost and schedule, and plan and monitor the technical and professional training of maintenance personnel.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen. Active Secret clearance with the ability to maintain.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of aviation maintenance experience.
- Must be efficient in logistics concepts, organizational and intermediate level aircraft maintenance; quality assurance; and have comprehensive knowledge of the policies, processes, and procedures regarding the planning, funding, and execution of life cycle support of the rotary/tilt-rotor test aircraft assigned, including sponsor goals and milestones, fiscal constraints, resource limitations while tracking program/project status and schedules, and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, engineering or an aviation related field
- Familiarity with DoD aviation development, production, sustainment, and/or testing
- Previous experience in senior level aviation maintenance leadership roles
- Previous maintenance experience supporting developmental or operational test and evaluation
- Knowledge of U.S. Government, DoD, and/or USN correspondence development practices, along with the ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with military aviation systems, either manned or unmanned.
