Supervisor of Trade Theory Training Instructors for the Naval Shipyard Institute (NSI)

ORBIS is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure the successful delivery of training programs, fostering the development of skilled professionals within the naval shipyard.
Duties Include:
- ORBIS liaison with shipyard or other Trade Theory Training (TTT) location staff.
- Oversee and coordinate the delivery of on-the-job training using mock-ups, simulators, and demonstrations (shipboard or shop-based).
- Ensure that instructors effectively communicate operations, material requirements, and safety protocols to trainees.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of instructors and provide guidance to enhance training effectiveness.
- Collaborate with trade experts to update training materials and methodologies as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a diverse team of instructors.
- Ability to develop and implement training strategies that align with industry standards and shipyard requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration between instructors and other departments.
- Familiarity with the technical aspects of at least one trade, such as electrical systems, machining, or welding processes, is advantageous.
- Experience in supervising and coordinating training programs.
- 10 years of direct experience in at least one of the trades being supervised in the NSI program (Marine Electrician, Machinist, Marine Machinist, Welder).
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- U.S. citizenship.
