Job Summary:
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a motivated and experienced Asset Manager (AM) to oversee and optimize the lifecycle of all Information Technology (IT) assets supporting a federal government Enterprise Infrastructure program. The AM will ensure accountability, compliance, and efficiency across hardware, software, licenses, and configuration items.
This role is responsible for achieving Total Asset Visibility (TAV), managing logistics, and overseeing maintenance and warranty activities. The Asset Manager plays a critical role in aligning asset management practices with mission objectives, ensuring that all assets are tracked, maintained, and utilized effectively throughout their lifecycle.
Asset Manager Required Key Responsibilities:
* Achieve and maintain Total Asset Visibility (TAV) across the enterprise in accordance with the Mission Support Business Model (MSBM)
* Oversee logistics, maintenance, and warranty for all IT assets
* Ensure the accuracy and completeness of asset data and the processes used to maintain it
* Manage assets throughout their life cycle, from procurement to disposal, ensuring proper identification, control, and tracking
* Implement and maintain relationships between assets and configuration items in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
* Audit the CMDB using automated workflows and establish physical/logical reconciliation procedures for assets not discoverable by automated tools
* Provide regular and ad hoc reports on asset location, aging, configuration, and other attributes
* Track maintenance due, completed, and fore-casted for individual configuration items (CIs)
* Maintain comprehensive asset inventories capturing all relevant data elements
* Participate in regular inventory reconciliation, including random verification of physical inventories, especially for server infrastructure devices
* Present continual service improvement ideas and recommendations for action
* Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders regarding asset status and improvement opportunities
Asset Manager Required Skills & Experience:
* Active Secret clearance required (Top Secret/SCI may be required)
* 8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or a related discipline
* Background managing IT assets in federal or Department of Defense (DoD) environments (maritime mission systems experience preferred)
* Proficiency with enterprise IT service management (ITSM) platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy/Helix, Jira Service Management) and experience with CMDB design/implementation
* Strong knowledge of ITIL v4 practices, particularly configuration management, change management, and asset life cycle management
* Familiarity with DESMF and SIAM frameworks for integrated, multi-vendor service environments
* Proven ability to lead audits, compliance reviews, and life cycle management programs
* Experience with software license management tools, processes, and methodologies
* Understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and DoD procurement processes (highly desirable)
* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing complex asset inventories
* Track record of implementing process improvements and best practices in asset management
Asset Manager Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Communications, or related field - Required
* Master's degree - Preferred
* CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification - Required
* ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher) certification - Required
* IAITAM certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) - Preferred
* ISO/IEC 19770 or other asset management-related certifications - Desirable
