Job Title: Senior Cybersecurity Engineer | The Cyber Sentinel
Location: Dayton, Ohio
This position is open for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer that has the ability to architect, implement, and optimize cybersecurity infrastructure in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions. What You’ll Do:
-- Architect, implement, and optimize cybersecurity infrastructure in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions.
-- Design secure network topologies, configure and program network infrastructure, and implement security controls aligned with DoD standards.
-- Apply industry best practices to strengthen critical infrastructure defenses, with emphasis on ICS/OT cybersecurity and protecting mission-critical systems.
-- Conduct reverse engineering of embedded devices, perform vulnerability analysis, and develop secure embedded solutions using Arm assembly, Python, and C.
-- Lead by example: mentor junior engineers, foster technical growth, and promote a culture of continuous learning across the cybersecurity team.
Minimum Qualifications | What You’ll Bring:
-- 5–10 years of experience as a mid-to-senior level Cybersecurity Engineer.
-- Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and guide junior engineers.
-- Expertise with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity.
-- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and network security principles, with hands-on experience configuring and securing switches and related equipment.
-- Proficiency in Arm assembly language, Python, and C for embedded systems and cybersecurity applications.
-- Hands-on expertise in reverse engineering embedded devices, including firmware analysis and exploit mitigation.
-- Ability to effectively communicate complex cybersecurity designs and risk assessments to diverse stakeholders.
Education/Credentials:
B.S. or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
US Citizenship is REQUIRED (this role requires a U.S. government security clearance).
Acceptable – Secret security clearance.
Nice to Have – Top Secret clearance with current SCI access.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
