POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Sheet Metal Mechanic supporting the AC-130 modification program, you’ll be responsible for major structural work, including installation of upgrades, removal of legacy systems, and fabrication of new airframe components. You will work from blueprints and engineering instructions to carry out high-precision modifications on military aircraft, ensuring quality, safety, and mission readiness every step of the way.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform heavy structural modification work on C-130 aircraft in accordance with engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Remove, fabricate, modify, and install aircraft sheet metal structures, including doublers, stiffeners, stringers, frames, skins, and panels.
• Use tools such as rivet guns, drills, shears, brakes, and hand tools to accomplish structural modifications.
• Perform cold working, drilling, reaming, countersinking, and precision fitting of structural components.
• Conduct repair and rework of damaged or previously modified aircraft structures.
• Document all work performed and comply with FAA, military, and company documentation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• 3+ years of aircraft sheet metal experience, preferably in a modification or depot-level setting.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience performing structural modifications on large fixed-wing aircraft (C-130 experience preferred).
• Familiarity with MIL-SPEC hardware and fastener installation techniques.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• High school diploma or GED required; aviation technical training preferred.
