Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the development of a US Space Force Delta level Weapons and Tactics program in the areas of mission planning methodology, threat mitigation, tool kit employment evaluations, training objectives, and tactics development.
- Provide in-depth instruction on current cyber Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), including offensive and defensive strategies, incident response protocols, and best practices in cyber operations.
- Organize and conduct simulated cyber events to immerse students in real-world cyber scenarios, fostering practical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Develop and facilitate scenario-based exercises that challenge students to apply their cyber skills in real-world scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving abilities.
- Develop recommendations for crew structure for all cyberspace units in Delta 6, to include defining roles and responsibilities for each position, experience requirements, and crew progression.
- Provide analytical and subject matter expert support in updating requirements for Combat Mission Ready/Mission Ready (CMR/MR) crew members. This includes currency requirements for specific crew position tasks and developing experience criteria for each crew position. Currency requirements shall reflect historical and reasonable expectations for each mission task that may be completed by the crew force of a given Cyberspace Squadron.
- Instruct students on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats, including strategies for protecting networks, data, and critical infrastructure. Offer training in offensive cyber operations, including penetration testing, ethical hacking, and vulnerability assessment techniques.
- Prepare students for effective incident response by providing hands-on training in detecting, analyzing, and mitigating cyber incidents.
- Develop training objectives for Space and Cyberspace operators participating in various USSF and Combatant Command exercises.
- Support the revision of Delta 6 (and subordinate units) TTPs, Check Lists, and Crew Aids.
- Coordinate and review legacy AF, USSF, and Combatant Command Instructions, author new versions or updates with government input for new HQ SpOC Instructions (SpOCIs) as requested by the government and other guidance impacting Space and Cyberspace Squadrons under Delta 6.
- Maintain a Delta level tactics library containing, but not limited to, joint publications, SpOC Instructions, CYBERCOM publications and USAF Weapons and Tactics publications.
- Participate in a working group to update the cyberspace unit mission sets and Weapons Systems. Work with an integrated team of government and contractor personnel, including stakeholders from Delta 6, NRO, SSDP, SpOC, NSDC and USSPACECOM. Develop courses of action and contingencies for weapons system employment for all cyberspace squadrons in Delta 6.
- Preferred Experience: US Air Force Weapons School graduate
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of demonstrated experience in DoD cyber operations (offensive, defensive, cyber for others and/or cyber for exercises.)
- 10 years of experience with security applications (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response [SOAR], Security Information and Events Management [SIEM], Intrusion Detection Systems [IDS], etc.)
- Ability Knowledge of/experience with space mission systems
- Ability to interface and integrate with: USSF SpOC leadership (O-6+), USSF operational and acquisition communities, Government, SE&I, FFRDC, and contractor personnel
